Equinox flowers

I thought these would be pretty to share since it is the vernal equinox today and carnations are considered to be spring flowers. I’ve never been a huge fan of carnations because they are so common and used in very traditional arrangements. Think 80’s, boutonniers and corsages:

Recently though, I discovered  the amazing variegated types which are far from common and are beautifully complex. The colors can be really quite incredible. The ones below stole my heart. The range of  pink/purple tones reminds me of antique hydrangeas.
