Lookin sharp

At the nursery I took a few shots of some interesting agaves and aloes. There is one I just can’t remember the name. It’s the mystery plant.

For most images I listed the common or ‘pet’ name as opposed to the botanical name. The real names are too tricky and hard to remember and the pet names are pretty cute:)

Modern plants

Here are some pics of  a recent project I did for someone who was doing interior design for a new office space in Santa Monica. Since the plants will be inside I had to do some special soil treatments in order to keep the roots dry for the succulents and blue agave.

For a west coast modern feel I added a driftwood embellishment to one of the succulent arrangements.

Flower fields

It’s officially spring and flowers are blooming like crazy. On one of the blogs I follow called Manger I saw the prettiest image of flowers growing in a vineyard (first image below).

I was inspired to find some other beautiful images of flowers growing in fields.

Purple plum tree

I am totally crazy about flowering branches. They look so beautiful in their simplicity and could either add amazing height to an arrangement or just be perfectly spectacular alone. The first pic is the amazing blooms in my backyard!

Recycled shoe

I had fun recycling one of my old TOMS shoes today. My toe nail had worn through the fabric and I was starting to get a leak on the sole. The fabric worked great as fill for these lovely succulents in these seed pods. I also made a few fabric flowers here and there. This was only one shoe! I’m saving the other shoe for another cool project:)

Rogers Gardens – Corona del Mar

By sheer coincidence I ran across the most extensive and incredible garden center I have ever been in my entire life. I was so overwhelmed it took me a while to realize I should take some pictures to share. Honestly, this place has something for everyone. The staff was really nice and the experience was pretty much perfect. If you ever find yourself in the OC area, you have to go. This place has EVERYTHING!!!!

I didn’t get to take a pic of the yummy lunch I had. The Soho Taco truck was there for the weekend. Delicious!
